On July 23rd, 2025, the international conference organized by the Biokimica Group took place at the Türkiye Deri Sanayicileri Derneği headquarters in Istanbul, marking the official opening of BK-LAB TURKEY; a new strategic hub dedicated to research, production, and development in the Eurasian market.

The event saw a strong turnout, particularly from leading Turkish tanneries, confirming the high level of interest in the topics addressed: Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), ZDHC compliance, product innovation, and the global challenges currently shaping the leather industry.

The day featured a series of technical presentations and opportunities for discussion with international stakeholders and experts. A special thanks goes to SPIN 360, our project partner for the LCA session, and to ChemLeg for their valuable insights on regulatory matters. We also wish to thank the representatives of the Turkish leather industry association for their participation and their meaningful institutional contribution.

The success of the conference was further confirmed by the high number of visits to BK-LAB KIMYA TURKEY in the following days, during one-to-one meetings scheduled to explore specific projects and collaboration opportunities.
